This was a real quick job I finished last week. The customer had a small outbuilding where they keep their washer and dryer. The dryer is not a condenser dryer so it has to be vented out. They used to use a very long ducting hose and they hung the end of it through the window. Obviously this wasn’t an ideal thing to do and the hose was always in the way.

So my job was to drill a suitable size hole in the wall and lead the hose through there. A straightforward job this time. I rented a core drill with the right size core bit, which made this installation a quick one. It literally took me longer to assemble and take the tool apart than the actual drilling.
Once I had the whole, I lead the hose through the wall and fitted an air vent cover on the other side. I opted for a flap vent cover as the house is in rural area and we wanted to keep the mice outside of the outbuilding. I fixed up the cover on the outside and run a bead of sealant around the ducting on the inside to make sure the hose won’t come lose over time.

Straightforward job, no hiccups, in and out a little over an hour (plus the time I spent to pick up and drop off the core drill at the hire place) and another happy customer. On to the next project!
