Garden tidy

In the past weeks every Saturday morning start with a bit of gardening which I really enjoy doing. Every two weeks I help a nice lady freshening up her garden in Acomb. The goal is that by Halloween, when she turns her garden into a trick or treat heaven, her garden is in its best shape.

This week the task was tidying up under the window area. Brumbles, overgrown grass and weed, cutting back a rose bush and clearing up the area. I only had to use my grass cutting scissors, my secateurs and one time my pruning saw with some thick rose branches. All in all, it was a nice and sunny early morning.

Another aspect I really like when I’m gardening is that you meet some local wildlife. This morning a big common frog was bouncing around and there was a pair of robins flying out from the hedge who were really interested in what I am doing. I also heard a wren singing nearby, but couldn’t see it, maybe I can have a glimpse of it next time.
